Turret House is a very historic property which has been beautifully restored to provide the finest self-catering accommodation in Kelso. Dating from the 17th century, and refurbished by the National Trust for Scotland as one of their 'Little Houses', it offers an excellent place to stay in the Scottish Borders.

The accommodation is spacious and stylish with lots of period features, including a wonderful circular stone stairway. This holiday house is in the centre of Kelso but as it is in a quiet no-through street it is very peaceful, and has a pretty courtyard garden.

Kelso is an attractive Border town on the banks of the River Tweed - one of Scotland's most famous salmon fishing rivers. Kelso Abbey can be seen from the upstairs windows, and these magnificent 12th century ruins are a popular tourist attraction. The Four Abbeys Cycle trail goes through Kelso, and there is excellent walking in the area - both marked routes and less explored paths.
There are some superb castles and country houses in the area - Floors Castle, Abbotsford House (home of Sir Walter Scott), Mellerstain and Traquair House are some of the finest in Scotland. Kelso's Racecourse is a great day out if you like racing and the beaches of the Berwickshire and Northumberland coasts are within easy driving distance. Edinburgh is only an hour away and Hadrian's Wall is an hour and a half's drive. There is so much to see and do in the area!
